House Fire on Davistown Road Quickly Extinguished

Blackwood and Chews Landing firefighters responded to the house fire.

No one was injured when a fire broke out in the second-floor bedroom of a Davistown Road home Wednesday evening.
The fire at 831 Davistown Rd. was dispatched at about 7:45 p.m., according to Blackwood Fire Co. Capt. Keith Kemery, and was declared under control by about 8 p.m.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Kemery indicated the first-arriving fire units were able to quickly extinguish the fire.
Davistown Road was closed between Erial Road and the Route 42 overpass for a time as a result of the fire.
In addition to Blackwood firefighters, members of the Chews Landing Fire Department, Gloucester Township Police Department and Gloucester Township EMS Alliance also responded to the fire call.
